Walking day by day
Hour by hour
Breath by breath
Trying to reach the sidewalk
Trying to stay on the safe side
Looking day by day
Hour by hour
Blink by blink
And I know it will all disappear before me
Instantly, gradually, slowly
Growing day by day
Hour by hour
Inch by inch
And I’m dying to press the pause button
To simmer in the moment as much as I can
I’m terrified of the thought of waiting
But I’m not afraid to wait for you.
