Mirror, Mirror
Some days, I just cry
as I sit in my chair.
Because nobody will know
and nobody will care.
These tears are my pleas
my sad, silent cries.
They break down the barrier
between me and my lies.
I strive for perfection
I aim for the wall
I punch with my head
when the world starts to fall.
I need to be skinny
I live to look great
I can’t take rejection,
the teasing, the hate.
I say that I’m gorgeous,
I’m skinny, I’m tall.
But then I look in the mirror
and I’m not pretty at all.
