Another Jazzy Day
"Baba-you-by-you-dit! Now-ohh." We sang it right back at him. When he added more, we kept singing it back. Then he let us play the line. Yes! I get the majority of the notes correct. I just have to practice a little at home. He shouts, "From the TOP!" Someone asked if he meant the very top. He says yes. "A 1, a 2, a 1, 2, 3, GO!!" And away we went. I get the first page. The second is harder, but I made it! The final ending. Halfway through he says, "Last note!" I played a B flat. Like I was supposed to. Then someone told him that he had skipped two bars. He made a corny joke. I imagine myself putting away my music and taking my sax to the holding room. He signals the end of our hard, yet fun, hour of practice. I am free to talk to my friends. Here comes the drama!!
