I'm telling you I'm fine
It is not some boy's kiss
Or some s***** girl's blessing
That gives me my worth
Though doubt that it's impressing
The smell of cigarettes
Ice tea on my lips
Old folks telling their stories
Or my father's goodnight kiss
These things bring me comfort
Though know one truly knows
I doubt the world sees me
How I see myself grow
The jasmine's in bloom
Covering the fence in vines
For the first time in my life
I can truly say I'm fine
