A Day in the Life
I wake up late every morning,
With only fifteen minutes to get ready for the day,
I put my hair up with a rubber band,
I throw on a ragged t-shirt and a vintage pair of jeans,
I don’t wear normal pretty make up,
I wear bold and bright colors on my eyes,
I go to school with a smile on my face,
And come home with a frown to replace it,
A day in the life of me isn’t an extraordinarily great one,
But I come home to a family that cares and listens,
I have a boyfriend that loves me for who I am and not what I look like,
I get home from school and I lay in bed for hours upon hours,
Just thinking about everything that went wrong during the day,
And everything that had gone in the right direction,
I call my boyfriend at 5:30 on the dot every night,
And talk about anything and everything until 10:00.
I wake up late every morning,
With only 15 minutes to get ready for the day.
And that is a day in the life of me.
