Kryptonite
He called her his kryptonite
A special something that felt
So wrong and yet so right.
he didn't feel like a superhero
He couldn't do everything
there were things he didn't know
But he still tried to be the best.
Every girl couldn't help but stare
He was enchanting, a mystery
Magic filled up the air.
But his kryptonite was special
She knew his deepest fear
But she'd never tell a soul,
As long as he always stayed near.
But superheroes have obligations
And people wouldn't understand
Why he ignored the adoring nation
To be with his greatest weakness.
So in the middle of the night,
Superman flew far far away
So far he'd never see kryptonite
So far he could forget her easily.
But kryptonite never forgot
About the amazing superman.
She's still wondering why he thought
Leaving was the best plan.
So she spends her days searching
For a hero she used to know
Until she accepts the departure
That wasn't very long ago.
