George Washington Carver
Born only a delicate seed
Tangled in the roots of slavery.
Fate captured his mother
But he held on to his bravery.
Prejudice and hate
Built a wall around his future
But he continued to break it down.
He changed the course of nature.
He didn’t work for riches
Or the attention from another.
He lived a life dedicated to
Finding benefits for others.
He used the pallet of his heart
To create life’s beautiful hue.
And over the faded walls
He painted a royal blue.
