Forest
A sea of silent echoes,
the dark and gnarled trees,
the land's relaxed breathing
is the only sound to me
I don't belong to the desert,
or the ocean's frothy coast.
I live within the woodlands,
they are what call to me the most
I love the vibrant, luscious flowers,
the river's graceful soul.
The earth, a burnt sienna
is what makes my heart feel whole
The deer, they pass, my brothers hunt
I watch them come and go
In the heart of my true homeland,
time, it always seems to slow.
