Daddy's Little Girl
a pink swirling dance
big hands to hold her as she twirled
she knew he wouldn't let his princess fall
she was his whole world
and they would always dance
no matter the tune or beat
for any pace she would set
he would flawlessly meet
but things began to change
as the light darkened in his eyes
but he would always dance with his princess
even though his movements were lies
told her she was going on a trip
promised that he would call
the little girl acted to strong
but on the inside she felt so small
said that he would always love her
but the lie was relieved in his dark frown
and in the doorstep as she left
lay a broken crown
days turned to years
as she grew up in her tower far away
always waiting for her father
alone as night consumed day
he said he would always protect his princess
since the moment she was born
but he had abandoned his little girl
and the heart that he had torn
now there is no pink dress flying
and in her step is no more twirl
he had broken her dancing spirit
daddy's little girl
