A Deep Conflict
It tears my heart to shreds
A conflict deep inside
The ripping, tearing, of my heart
Pulls my whole chest open wide.
You’ve given me good reasons
To abandon you in all
To let your demons overrun you,
Watch you as you fall.
But something in my heart wants
To keep you here with me
To fight your demons, scare them off
And try to set you free.
The choice is very difficult
But I’ve made my ultimatum
I’ve told you why so many times
It’s been but a verbatim
I love you and I can’t let go
It’s pulling me apart
I want to keep you here with me
And here is where I’ll start.
