Masquerade
Warped reflections in a mass of people,
A crowd perceived as you please,
Searching for hidden depth,
Among these faces you'll find,
Hearts chained by lock and key
Aching souls of emptiness,
Treasures buried deep inside,
A push towards the opposite,
Truth forced to hide
Reality rips their innocence,
A heavy burden to bear,
The pretense to a spiral down,
Fading fast, no longer here
A world of intricate deception,
A game of masquerade,
The building of walls,
Slow and stable,
A lasting facade
