Old Sally sees the lighted lamp
Resting on that distant shore
It calls her like a dry cornet
It wants her mind and nothing more

Old Sally travelled with the Lord of Death
And felt blank comfort in his sleeves
He seized her with his rusting fist
And she forsook her needs

Old Sally will go forth and gaze
Within the Kingdom of the Dead
Hollow bodies are her relief
From fears which weigh as thick as lead

Old Sally saw the throne of night
High up in that distant land
The foundations of her principles
Are nothing more than sand
