When I am Old
When I grow up
when I am old
when all my skin is wrinkly folds
when hair is scarce
and lips half blue
and all my purplish veins protrude
When I am old
when I grow up
when both my ears are filled with fluff
when I forget
in just a snap
and my days are filled with naps
I shall dance
I shall sing
and my crackly voice will ring
through the hallways
through the streets
and with everyone I meet
and though I stagger
though I fall
and seem to forget it all
this world shall never change my smile
when I'm old.

Growing old isn't something to dread or fear - rather, it is just the closing chapter of the beautiful process of life. Let your smile change the world, not the world change your smile.
