Regret

A small sneer crosses his face

The only visible sign to the hell below

A bubbling vat of poison emotion fill this space
Hatred mixes with self hatred, and ultimately sorrow

Images of violence swirl his mind
As water circles a drain
However, no violence is committed of any kind
Except the degradation of his soul from pain:

Pain of his own
Pain from his conscience
Pain from his home
Pain given to others in his responses

The darkness calls, the only escape
What feelings are real - is all a lie?
Sadness lurks inside, taking his shape
All that can be done

Is lay down

And cry

Written in the heat of the moment. Regret over feelings sustained, regret stemming from lucidity: this feeling is fleeting. Questioning validity of feelings.

"The darkness is my only escape." This quote from the text stuck out to me because of the way you describe the pain and self hatred the speaker is feeling toward himself makes me feel for him. I believe he does not want to feel that way, but his mind is forcing him to. I love the detail you added to this poem.
