Hope Persists
Teardrop on my fingertip
And heartbreak in my eyes;
What is there worth living for
When life is filled with lies?
Dreams of past are cast away
And happiness is scorned;
Funerals are normal now
As innocence is mourned.
Yet I wait upon the day
I know will come once more;
When the sun shall shine again
And light my very core.
