Forest Kids
The boy with the jacket
the color of the dark forest green
is able to view the Earth
and see things unseen
The flowers would follow
whatever path he would go
till they grew thorns
something he did not know
They tore into his flesh
and punctured his heavy heart
but he continued to stride
while hopelessly falling apart
Off he persevered
to see the good in this world
little did he know he would
befriend a small brown eyed girl
Together they sprinted
to the crisp mountain top
with subtle smiles and
no flowers to make them stop
