Falling to Pieces
I am falling to pieces,
and time is not on my side.
merely and unrelentingly watching as I struggle.
falling as I chase after you,
a you that doesn’t see what is left of me.
leaving me perpetually, pathetically, painfully
lost in a world of breathing, being, balling over you
in every stubborn breathe, sinking heart beat, silent break
nothing numbs me more than less of you.
grasping on to remains of bitter, blinding, burning young love.
fighting back the raging urge to love you the way you deserve.
offering all of me to someone who leaves me less of me.
running toward a future that you don’t see but that every part of me craves.
you don’t notice my yearnful eyes or my pleading hugs
or the red ink engraved in my skin begging for you to save me.
until time allows for you to catch me, my pieces are falling for you.
