Tulips
I’ve never really liked tulips.
They have a weird name.
And they are so closed off from everyone else.
I think I also don’t like tulips
Because I used to color them in the spaces of black fuzzy paper with
White where the color is supposed to go
By the white walls of the church basement
With the weird smells of plastic chairs and the school-like vibe of the place.
And the tulips with lines I couldn’t color outside of.
In the church I couldn’t color outside of the lines of.
I don’t like tulips.
They don’t look for the sun.
They aren’t open
Or happy
But that is what is supposed to make them beautiful.
I’m glad I’m not a tulip.
