Palomino, Colombia
relámpagos flash as el viento picks up,
a frightening undercurrent encima del mar,
truenoso as real thunder roars and podemos oír the rain
pero no lo podemos ver
this rain we can't see is even
stranger as these electric flashes reveal
the stormy beach para solamente unos segundos a la vez,
segundos, solo horas después que se puso el sol,
and i can see toda la playa,
todas las palmeras,
and then está aca
slowly at first empieza a llover,
despues mas rapido as thunder punctuates
the roaring waves below, syncopated by the incessant lightning,
y los fueguitos de las lámparas tiki no se apagan in spite of all this,
la lluvia cada vez más fuerte and carried by the wind
and then rapidamente me escapo y estoy inside the cabin
pero la tormenta no para para nadie,
layered over the waves as i sleep,
solamente visible como little pockmarks in the sand,
from raindrops, al amanecer.
