Since You've Been Gone

They said to get over you, but I’ve tried.
They say don’t live in the past. Just keep moving forward.
It’s hard, because when I close my eyes. I see your smile.
When I sleep I hear your laugh.
A few days ago I even thought I saw your face, and heard you too.
My world, it lit up, as it did then.
Now is different, and I don’t know why,
But now you’re gone; you were my light.
And I’m in the dark, trying to find…
My way around.

My piece is just something that came to mind, when i was told to write a poem. I guess its really just how i felt about my grandmother, who just passed away last monday.
