A war
People here and there
But not in the full picture.
Instead- in portions with dispositioned parts
Spread unevenly across the streets
Just like the peanut butter on a sandwich
where the sun glows with a bright neon yellow
And reflects the light against these body parts into our eyes
Seen as vibrant and gory as a glare in a mirror.
And when you take a step, all you hear is a horrific sound
The crunch of the weak and cracked bones
Like the chilling sound of celery being slowly squeezed and twisted.
Not only human and no longer humane
Mixed with a donkey’s head and a disassembled arm
A mother of an infant, unable to provide support because of the radiation
that emits out of the crumbled buildings and the scorching sun waiting above
waiting in patience to boil her down to bits.
Along with others having to hold their glowing crimson red intestines
Wobbly and Jiggly just like jello when it trembles.
Even though they survived and ended up alive,
they would wish they can make
a deal with fate to end their life.
And all of this is happening
because of the bombing
In 1937.
