They own the skies they’re under,

Kings and Queens of the wind.

They can run forever,

As if they have wings,

They’ve loved this land for centuries,

Their hooves like wild thunder,

The grass bows low as they pass,

A crown of mane upon their eager ears,

Stars scar their weary coats,

The West is their home


The author's comments:

Emma enjoys long trail rides with her beloved quarter horse, Baby. She's been working at a small farm, where Baby lives, for two years now.
