Beauty Burdens
Always reminded of the beauty of others
Our self image continues to suffer.
Beauty sets standards no person can naturally achieve
Makes us constantly remind ourselves of any compliments we do receive.
We are reminded that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder
But for some reason, we find ourselves becoming colder.
Longing for the attributes we never can receive
There seems to be no way we ever like what we see.
After all the times we are told we are pretty
Beauty makes us look at what we don’t have with pity.
When we look in the mirror in the morning and at night
There are times that we don’t like what is in sight.
