I wish my worries were more simple,

I wish my concerns could be more childish,

I wish the world would stop trying to tear itself apart,

I wish the government would stop being so greedy,

I wish I didn’t worry about bullets ricocheting through my school,

I wish I didn’t know how to make a tourniquet for bullet wounds,

I wish we could all just lay down our weapons and stop fighting,

I wish they would listen to our screams,

I wish I still had hope for our future,

I wish I hadn’t seen the statistics,

I wish we had longer but we did this to ourselves,

I wish I could just be a kid.
