The House
The house, my house, sits alone on the street.
The burned house from my doing,
Whatever wasn’t burnt was stolen.
Whatever wasn’t stolen stayed there
Burning in the flames
Being burnt to the ground.
The fire swallowed all the house,
The fire,
The fire ate it all
The fire took the whole family, my whole family.
The burnt ashes of the house still sit on the street
With the burnt ashes of mothers, fathers, brothers, and sisters.
When the fire went down, it took everything within it.
It took the lives of hearts and souls,
It took my heart and shattered it
The house took everything with it.
