The sounds of winter
Long, slender tendrils of cold reach out
and gently stroke the earth.
Covering the once dewy flora
In a sprinkled coating of frost.
Icy images dance on the windows
That are frozen to the touch.
The crystal skies are turned to a mural
Of winged things soaring towards the warm heavens.
Snow spreads across the lively, flowery fields
Making them a quiet wonder.
It seems as if the whole world’s silent
To hear the sounds of winter.
