Bliss
This is not my dream
Bliss plays hide and seek behind
Deep blood drapes of soft, sweet velvet.
Fear stands guard,
ready to attack.
Plant each step gently, deeply into dark, rich soil
Courage takes root
Fear’s eyes,
Glossy, shattered spheres of glass
Tell a story
Only a summary surfaces
Longing for a life never privileged to experience.
Hands grip, pull, and push, hands hurt.
Whose hands?
Keep planting steps.
Tears fertilize awaiting courage blossoms
Bliss peaks,
Bliss is closer than you think!
Face Fear,
And bliss is yours…
Maybe this was my dream

This poem was based off a recurring dream I had about my inner battle with anxiety.
