No More Walks
Beach Walks
I walk with my grandmother
Alongside the beach
Sand in my hair
The salt in my lungs
We talk about life
About my dogs
About her German food
We catch up
But then I wake up
She’s gone
No more walks along the beach
No more talks about dogs
No more talks about German food
I am filled with a painful ache
It throbs inside my chest
Released in my tears
