in a rainstorm
in a rainstorm the sky.
it is grey. it is dull
and looks down upon you
with lively eyes.
come to me,
it says,
come to me and play
in my rain
in my puddles
in the dripping wet leaves.
but you say no,
say, i cannot,
say, i shouldn’t.
in that dripping morning
you begged me to play.
lure me outside with your
cold tentacles.
say screw it
say let’s do it
say we jump in the puddles
and splash in the rain
and look to the sky
with our mouths wide open.
hoping to catch a drink.
say we forget about tomorrow.
and we decide to have fun.
say we leap and bound across the
sky mirrored pavement
and forget the lost feeling
in our toes
say we forget our worries.
even if just for a moment.
