Look at me,

I suffer from poverty,

I don't have much money,

My days are not sunny,

It's not ok,

Please lighten up my day,

Take the burden off my back,

Please I Live in a shack!

My stomach releases a painful growl,

My stomach is searching, its on the prowl,

You can see my ribs, they look foul,

As I beg for money, people give me an angry scowl.

I don’t have a house,

I scavenge like a mouse,

I don’t get to eat,

I dread every week.

I smell gross,

I’m pale as a ghost,

How can I boast?

I have just a box at most.

I’m considered poor,

My clothes are tore,

My emotions are sore,

My parents can’t offer much more.

I’m just trying to get by,

I don’t want to be the bad guy,

As I look into the sky,

I realize it’s time to say “goodbye.”
