Where Has The Time Gone?
Awaken only years ago, deep wounds
kept me blinded in the dark.
My eyes softened, you held me up
When I couldn’t. Ring on finger, constant laughter.
First plane ride to new terrain.
Given shakes, my throat closes.
Anxiety passed, finally adjusted to new home.
Cold to the bone, window exposes piles of snow.
Work is challenging but my love for it is never questioned.
Plants litter our yard, occasional meows from the bushes.
Ink and wrinkles riddle my body, time has slowed.
Tea in hand and smile lines are obvious.
My final days are near, I stand in front of myself.
Mirror showing what i’ve become. Mind tracing the cross stitches of memory.
Eyes close, soon to awake again.
