Watercolor Sunset Skies
Teardrops paint watercolor sunset skies,
Skies that blur red and orange and blue.
Tears—my tears— make the sky’s beauty,
Droplets that shimmer like the morning dew.
My pain doesn’t make my story, a story untold.
It only smudges the ink of my scrawled words.
I will pen my story across the star-strewn sky,
Until the stars flicker and fade and finally die.
I revel in the chaos of the summer storms,
Spilling bruise-colored clouds across the sun.
I will light up the darkened sky to reveal my story,
“A story that will no longer be untold,” says the night.
