empty notebooks

they say it's just blank paper
untouched, unfelt, empty.
i see the lifeless pages
and they're beautiful.
worlds to be enscribed,
lives to be detailed,
adventures and travels of a lifetime
with nothing but simple words
chicken-scratch scattered on oblivion
history wasn't set in stone, but in paper
scribes feverishly recorded
visionaries dreamed
authors penned their stories
they all changed the world with them
it all started with blank paper,
now it's up to us
how will we fill our empty notebooks?
