Ode to the Female Body

Bare in the backseat of his Mazda

The moonlight kisses her skin

And it made her the brightest

Source of light

In the night

Peeling the soft cotton clothes

That kept her hidden

Piece by piece were thrown around

Her delicate skin was now

Rocky with goosebumps

From the leather seats

Wishing instead for covered sheets

It started with the curve

Of her breast

The shadow of the mountain

Cascading down her chest

Protruding outwards

She came in contact with her lover

Their skin clashed

A pale moon and creamy caramel

Softer than angel kisses

They danced with no misses

The dips of her hips were cherished next

Baby hairs aligning a trail to

A sacred place

Her Hispanic hips swerve like

A trained dancer

A ballerina

The most elegant type

Moving around like a kite

The heart was last

Seen through the windows of the eyes

A dark color of fresh dirt

Made by the worms that crawl across their homes

Adoration, infatuation, love

A car filled with steam

Has it seeping through the seams

The female body is the most beautiful

For it feels the most

Lover’s skin, a child

Unbearable pain, perfect love

From the top of her silky hair

Trailing down her feathered face

The rocky ride of her chest

Down to her built in home

Ending with the light

She continues to fight

The author's comments:

This piece is very dear to me, and it holds a safe place in my heart. I wrote it after a night of raw happiness and the idea came to me while I was with someone I love very much. To me, it's uncovering myself as a person for others to read and digest.
