Past Friends
We were once friends
to the end
you look at me with a smile so smug
if only you could see
what you did to me
I didn’t mean to hurt you
if only you Knut how could you
there’s empty dialogue when we’re together
we could have been best friends forever
but now I see you and it’s unbearable
my stomach lurches
whenyou look at me
I hide the things you don’t see
because you said “you expect better”
my face is a little wetter
tears stream down my face
I guess I was something you could replace
I was a doll
you threw me away
to the trash you wanted me to stay
but that’s where I choose to remain
I sometimes think
on our silouhettes of us
having fun
No.
your fun was no fun
