 Racism in schools

Black being bullied

It all started one day,

It hit me like a bullet,

I thought this era was over

I didn't think I would have to go through it.

Yes my parents said to be careful

Yes they told me to not fight back,

Why does he call me names like that,

Why do I let it get to me.

Shouldn't I just be able to take it like everyone else of my race does

Shouldn't I take it

Don't their parents teach them it's disrespectful

Don't they teach them not to say that,

Words can hurt others

Words do hurt others.

People around me aren't even helping

People around me are just laughing

It sucks,

Why me,

Why me.

White Bystander

My parents told me it wasn't okay,

My parents said that everyone is the same no matter what

I don't understand why people think that way

I don't get why their brain is like that,

Everyone was laughing.

Everyone was making fun of him

Why weren't people helping,

Why aren't they telling the bully to stop,

The names were brutal,

The bully used words that even hurt me when he said them.

The teachers tried to help,

The teachers tried to make sure it stopped

It didn't,

It never will.

As long as we have just one person that thinks like that it will never stop,

As long as just one person is racist it will live on forever.

You see it in the news

You see it on your phones all day

People are so cruel,

People don't understand,

Why him.

White Teacher

They said try to stop it,

They said you are the reason it continues to happen

Why me.

Why don't kids understand,

Did parents teach their kids anything

Did they only accept people that was their color,

I don't get it.

I told my kids that we are all the same no matter what we look like

Doesn't everyone do that,

Doesn't everyone do that,

My parents made sure I knew at a young age,

My parents taught me to love

Not hate.

Not judge someone based on their skin,

Kids are so rude

Kids just have to make themselves superior,

We need to help.

We have to teach our society,

They can't help the color of their skin

They can't help but try to make the best of it and it's hard because of people like this

Why him.
