Don't wake me up

Let me shut my eyes for the whole day.
I want to dream that dream.
Let me finish my dream.
Let me make a new dream
Let me create a new world,
a world that fits,
a world that lets me be me.
I want to stay dreaming forever
Why do I have to wake up,
In this world that could be better.
I dream of a meadow.
It stretches as far as I can see.
It’s full of fireflies.
Bright, bright fireflies.
I can dream of the animals at the tree line
I gaze at them, and they stare back.
What are they thinking of right now?
