A Blue Butterfly
It fluttered around so whimsically,
Blue and beautiful,
glimmering.
It promised me something.
something happy, something i didn’t have before
Something I desperately wanted
I didn’t know what it was
But I took it anyways.
My hand reached out to the pretty butterfly.
It perched on my arm,
And it stung me.
Happiness is what I wanted, but I take it anyways.
The more pain i feel
The more tears that fall
The more and more as I reach out to that beautiful butterfly
To sting me,
To make it sting less,
And I take it anyways.
Now, all I see is blue.
It's all over me
Blocks my vision
Clouds my thoughts
And I don't reach out to the butterfly anymore
But it stings me anyways.

I wrote this back in 7th grade, when my writing nor my mindset was very good. I think I've transformed it into something i can be proud of.
