Drowning
When I look at you,
I see something much deeper
than the ocean.
A thousand storms
pass through your eyes
and it calls me.
Rip me from the safety
of the shore,
and pull me in.
Scream into me
the resounding devastations
of the crashing sea.
Silence gasps for air first,
and I’m still under water.
Maybe I don’t mind
drowning either.
I find comfort
as I settle into the stillness.
