To School

As I wake up for school

I start the truck with the

Chance of waking the neighbors

The cold start of a pickup is a welcoming sound

The Heater to full blast

To sweating till the AC

Saw the reflection of summer sky on my mirror

Hoping I don’t see neighbors

The Highway of flowing cars

And the zip of cars as they are left in my dust

The roar of no muffler

To a bird from a passer by

A speed to fast for a highway

To a Popo in the distance

That could be the reason

My brakes don’t like me

A slow speed through a neighborhood

Tell I see a buddy

Racing to a parking spot

I would be surprised if sleepers stay awake

For I don’t like losing my spot
