Dear Favorite Book, 

This is a letter to tell you all that you mean to me

to express my gratitude for what you've done

To convey my joy in reading you once more

This is a love letter to my figurative heart

For everything you’ve made me feel

All the torture, and sorrow, and pinches in my chest

All the laughter and pure wonder as I lived your life

This is a story about the faith you gave me

About how after you, I could pick myself up again

I relearned what it was to hope, and to dream

And to let myself be what I wanted

This is an ode to the journey we share

When I read you cover to cover

A poem for you was the least I could do

When you've helped shape me into my truest self

So let people judge you, 

And let people judge me

On what they don't know that we have

They could never understand what you truly mean to me
