Somewhere Far Away
Washed away
through the brook
deposited somewhere
far away
Are our
memories.
The people
we used to be
are there too
still dancing
to the painfully
sweet
slow songs.
Ankle deep in
poison and
tranquil waters.
The smooth water trickling,
somewhere far away
through the gentle pebbles,
which smoothed the
aches and pains too.
Because the memories
do fill me with
toxic wastes
and oil spill pollution.
But, in the current
I can believe we
are someone else,
with genuine smiles
and twinkling eyes.
