Futile, homogenous faces paint blushed cheeks and a bold laugh

While their unstable nature screams for the twisted, homebound path

They shuffle along the crowded jungle filled with scornful beasts

As their prideful, egoistic leader chants a bombastic, boring speech

They howl in the daylight, suffer through countless cries for perfection

The terrifying roar once an hour, the only reminder of inception

While competing for the prize they may never receive

Their hearts drown in sorrows, for success, possibly only a tease

The once ignorant minds, so curious and pure

Now cracked on the daily, ambition so utterly sore

They dance within the four walls of the tree house tucked away

Smiles only appearing one eighth of the day

They feast on minty goods, savoring every last bite

Until the knot in their stomachs puts up an inevitable fight

They scramble through the tunnel, light only an inch away

Wait for the musty, grey engines to rise in their say

Fingers curl smoothly into the sweating palm within

As the darkness creeps, lonely, searching for a tireless kin

They race until the moon faces its mournful peak

And the stars glisten quietly, appreciation they so desperately seek

The oil runs out and they slowly shut down

Purposeful, specialized faces, lay cheerfully in the wistful town
