The universe must be a teenage girl. So much darkness, so many stars.

Bring your redemption

to life’s banquet.

The barricades

of grace—

The memory and the future

come to me

when I am under blankets

staring at the face painted world—

Neon and burned streetlights

and shriveling milkweed meaty tear souls

with homework to do

as the sky tries to collect us.

We put our truth

in the trees.

Bring redemption

like a train ticket to the Life Light Tear Express

where I ride, where I ride,

where I ride.

The author's comments:

What this poem might mean: When you're doing something hard alone, that's when the redemption you've found through your wisdom and experience truly counts.

I live by the train tracks, and I hear trains all day and night, so I chose the imagry of a train for a life metaphor.

"It Will Be Good." (complicated semi-spiritual emotional story.)

"Upon his bench the pieces lay
As if an artwork on display
Of gears and hands
And wire-thin bands
That glisten in dim candle play." -Janice T., Clockwork[love that poem, dont know why, im not steampunk]

i just want you to know(bc i just wrote my comment on the shattered reflection poem), if not for you i might have quit writing, or quit ti and forgotten writing. when you goton, i was so sick of what i did never being seen and wondering why nobody cared. when you started commenting on my stuff it changed my veiw on ti, and thus on writing. i dont know if ive said that before quite so frankly, so there it is.
