I don't cry
I don’t cry
But every time you walk away,
I turn my head
And a droplet of water bounces off my shoe
I don’t cry
But when I’m in a room full of people
And find my escape route blocked,
I become a shadow on the wall
I don’t cry
But when you don’t care for my thoughts
I sew my mouth shut
To make you happy
I don’t cry
But when I realize I’ve been hurting myself
And still don’t seem to care,
I need three days before I can begin to function again
I don’t cry
But when people watch me speak
I stutter and my face burns,
The trash can stinks of vomit afterwards
I don’t cry
But as I mature,
I regret having to live
And that brings my head to the floor
I don’t cry
But once you’re gone
And you’re not coming back
I might just
I don’t cry
But I’d like to
