Weekend With Nature
I sit underneath the wooden awning and scribble down words
on a piece of paper.
I’m trying to focus on my assignment
but the adrenaline from this morning's race is still running through my body.
I’m about to give up when it hits me -
I hear the tiny waves rippling across the water.
I feel the wind blocking out the summer heat
and threatening to blow away my papers.
I see the neighbors' red houses and barns starting to reappear behind the trees.
These things are only available in nature, that’s what makes it so amazing.
