A Tea and Coffee Night
We sat by the window staring at the night's altered lights.
Mother towered her mug with tea
My sisters with coffee black as graphite
Then when we sat in a circle
And stories came forth
As a patch, then a little piece fitted into another
Like a jigsaw puzzle.
Mother listens and sips,
A gecko crawls out
Curling its tail to our conversation
That of childhood memories and terrible friends.
When the moon rose to the sky's peak
And zephyr blew
We slept knowing we would do this another day,
Just maybe till awhile.

The nights I spend sipping tea or coffee with my family are one of those times, for me, I'm not an introvert. We laugh and chat, maybe sing old childhood songs that brings back old memories.
