Feathers
I used to think
That when I was
An adult
A free agent
I could sprout
Wings of white
Delicate feathers
Snowy feathers
Fluttering feathers
And fly away to my
New life
Childhood brings
Out wild dreams
And I guess
I wanted to be free
Like a bird
Soaring over oceans
And land like it’s nothing
Like it doesn’t matter
And now I’m
Just an adult
In a world of
Unhappiness
And judgement
And hate
And I wish I took
More days to
Dream
Of being a
Bird because now
It’s impossible to
Think of anything
That is outside of
The norms
I wish I had
Feathers
Delicate feathers
Snowy feathers so
I could fly away
To a new place
Where childhood was
Forever and we
Could all be birds
And shower the
World in equality
And bliss
And joy
But it’s all a
Dream
It’s all a
Wish
From someone
Who rushed through
Life to get to
Adulthood
Then realized that
It’s not what it’s said
To be
Just a repetition
Of the same day
Until you retire
Which is a
Repetition of the
Same day until you
Pass
I wish I spent more
Time dreaming of
Birds and
Feathers
Because I would’ve
Realized that
I had
Feathers
All along

I wanted to encorperate the idea of how we think that we can do anything as adults, and we rush to that point, but it's not always what it's said to be. I hope that you enjoy this!
