Bye Friend
My head spinning,
hit by a bus
and can’t see straight.
Like Im trapped in a brazen bull
My best friend,
my mentor,
the person I admire the most, is terminal.
Asking questions with no answer.
Why him, why not someone else,
Why not me?
Time goes on,
noticing the little things.
fewer miles per gallon,
The road gets bumpier,
The tires are bare.
Barely making it up that hill.
My life falls apart without a goodbye.
Within a wink of an eye, he's gone.
No more smile or twinkle in his eye.
closed casket.
Hundreds of people saying goodbye.
Tissue boxes in every pew.
Hoping that this terrible nightmare will end soon.
The sound of his voice,
Slowly fading away.
His smile
lost in the past.
