In it Together
Volleyball. I love volleyball. Playing it and watching it.
The fast pace game, the excitement for each point.
The game is like an intense game of don't let the balloon touch the ground.
I love how anything can happen and the whole game can swing in 5 short minutes.
Cheering on your teammates, the sound of the bench fills the gym.
We’re down 5, 18-23
The serve comes over, right to the libero, she puts it up to the middle of the court.
Our outside takes a big swing, right to the hole in the floor.
19-23
Our best server goes up to serve, 3 aces in a row, her last serve goes up, go for their setter in zone 1. The line judge's flag flies up so fast and quick it's like a bolt of lightning.
22-24
This is our last chance to pull it together and win it.
Their serve comes just too short, hits the net on the way.
We all have big smiles on our faces, cheering loudly.
When we hear the whistle.
The ball barely tipped over the net.
We lost.
The team is like a family, only wanting the best for each other and sticking with each other through the game no matter what.
Even if we lose.
Encouraging each other to stay with it and cheering each other on in the most intense moments.
After the game, we all forgive each other and practice harder for next time.
